Most teenager kids with fibromyalgia have to go through with their pain and discomfort for a long time before being diagnosed. They are sent to the doctors many times for many years. Each time they are told that there is nothing wrong with them and that it’s all in their heads. That it is just growing pain or growth spurts. Fibromyalgia affects teenagers and young adults. It mainly affects women more than it does men. As well, if someone in your family has the disease, you are more likely to suffer from it as it is known to be hereditary.
There are so many different symptoms of fibromyalgia. Some of the symptoms consist of body ache, fatigue, headaches, muscle aches and bone aches. Not everyone will have the same exact symptoms. To this day even doctors really don’t know what causes fibromyalgia. Some think that it could be from the human nervous system not developing properly, but it is not known for sure at this point and time. In order for the doctors to diagnose you for fibromyalgia, they have to push on the 11 out of 18 sensitive areas. The doctors also have to do blood work and tests on the person.
There is no real cure for fibromyalgia. Most doctors will have you do plenty of exercise. They will have you get as much sleep as possible. The doctors will want you to reduce the stress as much as possible and try to keep warm at all times. Some people with fibromyalgia can grow out of it with the right diagnosis and exercise.
