Fibromyalgia Sufferers

Fibromyalgia is a syndrome that causes intense muscular pain throughout the muscles, ligaments and tendons. There is no known cause for fibromyalgia and there is no cure. There are at least six million people in the United States who suffer from fibromyalgia. Between 80 percent and 90 percent of those diagnosed are women, but men and children have also been diagnosed. The women diagnosed are usually between 20 and 30 years of age. As a person ages, their symptoms tend to be less severe.

People with fibromyalgia also have headaches. They either have migraines, muscle tension headaches or combination headaches. Other symptoms of fibromyalgia are a great feeling of fatigue and having a hard time sleeping at night. They are extremely fatigued after physical exercise and mental exertion.

Nevertheless, it is very important for people who have fibromyalgia to exercise. If you can get regular exercise in a heated swimming pool it will improve the quality of life of the people with fibromyalgia. Yoga is a proven exercise for people with fibromyalgia as it helps with the pain and anxiety. If you do yoga regularly, it will cause positive energy, increase flexibility in joints and tendons, increase blood flow and decrease pain in the joints.

Another way to treat fibromyalgia is with a gentle aerobic exercise. Aerobic exercise is an exercise that increases your hart rate. If a person who has fibromyalgia does not begin a daily aerobic exercise program, they will never notice any improvement with this condition.
