Easing the Pain of Fibromyalgia

Fibromyalgia is a disease that causes muscle pain. The cause of this disease is not known. Some symptoms include constant fatigue and chronic joint and muscle pain. There are no cures known for fibromyalgia, but there are ways to manage the symptoms. There are certain kinds of medications that can be used. One of these would be analgesics, which relieve the pain caused by the disease. Your diet can also have an impact on the pain management.

It is important to drink lots of water. You should also try to stay away from foods like salt, flour and sugar. You can also help by eating lots of raw fruits and vegetables. The juices are also good for you. Some other foods that may need to be avoided are wheat, soy and dairy products. Citrus, corn and nuts may also need to be avoided. Moderate exercise can be a help in pain management as well. Walking for at least an hour a day can be helpful. Stretching exercises can be effective as well. It is important to not overdo these exercises. It is important to listen to what your body is telling you. An infrared sauna can be a source of pain relief as well. Massages can be a way to manage the pain as well. This is, however, another place that moderation needs to be taken. Warm pool therapy and warm water baths may also relieve the pain caused by fibromyalgia. Sunshine can be helpful as well.

Any of these exercises should be done with consideration for how it makes the body feel. In these areas, pain is not gain. You need to do things that relax the muscles which can relieve the pain.
